The « Le » Butcher Block XS is the most concentrated expression of the SAINT OUEN philosophy: that scale is irrelevant to character. At just 40 × 40 cm, it is the collection’s most portable piece — yet it carries the same curved silhouette, the same hornbeam end-grain conviction, and the same artisanal precision as its larger siblings.

A solid hornbeam end-grain top offers a resilient, self-healing cutting surface that professional chefs and passionate cooks have trusted for centuries. Below, a soft-close drawer keeps a knife, a peeler, or a few essential spices within reach, while two open shelves provide additional storage for bowls, bottles, or cooking oils. The proportions are considered: 91 cm high, standing at perfect prep height without requiring a stool or an awkward lean.

Crafted in solid and veneered beechwood with chromed brass hardware, the XS is available in thirteen De Kercoet finishes, with Brushed Brass or Polished Stainless Steel accents. Optional casters add mobility for those who prefer to wheel it from kitchen to terrace; a towel bar provides an additional point of utility. Made-to-measure dimensions and a fixed-height version without casters are available upon request.
