The reversible Board No. 4, in the depth of walnut.

Since 2001, De Kercoet has designed butcher blocks and serving pieces for kitchens where people gather. Board No. 4 in walnut keeps their essence: a dense end grain that shows few marks and spares the edge of your knives, and a presence that carries it naturally from kitchen to table. Darker than maple, walnut sets off a country loaf, a cheese board or sliced meat.

The grooved side is for carving; the flat side, for serving. Two side handles, four brushed brass corner brackets and a 4.5 cm (1.8 in) thickness: it handles with one hand and stores with ease. Presented in a cardboard box, in the manner of a fine leather goods case, it makes a natural gift and grows more beautiful over the years.

Care & Maintenance Instructions

Cleaning: damp sponge with a little soap, rinse, then dry immediately and stand the board on its edge. Never soak it or put it in the dishwasher.
Feeding the wood: apply a cutting-board oil or wax on both sides whenever the wood looks dry.
Odors and stains: rub with coarse salt and lemon, rinse, dry.
Brass brackets: soft, dry cloth.
Avoid: hot pans and dishes placed directly on the wood.
