CANCALE Kitchen Island
Description
CANCALE bears the name of a Breton port where cooking is a daily act — direct, unadorned. The Kitchen Island is the collection’s centrepiece: compact volumes, frank silhouettes, and a mixed worktop that celebrates the beauty of the essential.
The signature surface pairs a removable hornbeam end-grain chopping board — fitted with side grooves for easy lifting — with a slab of white marble or black granite. This dual arrangement enables fluid transitions between preparation and presentation, cutting and plating, in a single uninterrupted gesture.
Four drawers on soft-close runners — two on each side — provide quiet, precise storage. The structure is built in solid and veneered beechwood with oak available upon request. A belt in Vieux Bois C02 crowns the piece; the body is available in four De Kercoet lacquer colors or personalized color upon request. Hardware in brushed brass or chrome stainless steel adds restrained punctuation.
Optional castors allow the island to move where the moment demands — from kitchen to terrace, from preparation to service. An optional towel bar completes the piece. Designed for kitchens of character, the CANCALE flavours balanced volumes and intuitive ergonomics, in service of everyday gestures.
